Hi! I'm Karina - the heart behind Pura Vida Charcuterie. I was born in beautiful Costa Rica and raised in the lush, laid-back corner of the Pacific Northwest, so it's no surprise that Pura Vida (which means "the good life") became the perfect name for this passion project of mine.

​

My love for charcuterie started about five years ago during the holidays, when I made my first cheese board for a family gathering. Let's just say... I was instantly hooked. What began as a seasonal tradition turned into a full-blown obsession (in the best way). For me, there's something magical about layering flavors, textures, and colors to create something beautiful and delicious - something that brings people together.

Cheese is my favorite. Cheese is life.

By day, I'm a full-time working mom in the banking world, where I've spent years building relationships. I truly love working with people - getting to know their stories, helping where I can, and finding joy in everyday connections. That same joy and intentionality fuel what I do at Pura Vida Charcuterie.

I'm also a mom to two wild and wonderful toddlers and married to my middle school sweetheart (yep, still going strong!). Life is full, a little messy, and totally beautiful.

Pura Vida Charcuterie is my creative outlet - an expression of love, hospitality, and that irresistible urge to make things look as good as they taste. Whether you're celebrating a milestone or just want to elevate snack time, every board I make is crafted with care, heart, and a whole lot of cheese.
